Our Team - David Shelton

David Shelton has been established as a Business Development Consultant for over thirteen years, working with both small and medium sized enterprises to help secure continuous improvement in performance and a greater contribution from the people involved at all levels. This has followed an extensive period in industry, where he worked in a range of both line and staff positions in small units, major organisations and corporate entities.

David has delivered training programmes designed to enable delegates to explore the self employment option and, specifically in regard to start up and young businesses, he has undertaken research work leading to the establishment of support programmes in this field and has delivered post-start reviews connected with some of these past initiatives. He has other experience of operating with business support entities, including extensive working with other self-employed Adviser groups and Business Volunteer Mentors.

He offers particular expertise in general management, business analysis and planning, project management, organisational and management development and the evolution and evaluation of company training programmes. He also has experience in the planning necessary to allow organisations achieve successful ownership transfer, especially important in small family concerns.

Key objectives are always long term sustainability in performance and maximum possible personal progression for individuals and he adopts a facilitative style when working with clients. David is a member of the Institute of Business Consulting.
