Strictly Business with Karen Hardy at Worcestershire Women’s Conference
This years Women’s Enterprise Conference was a huge success with over 120 women coming together to listen to inspirational speakers, attend workshops and enjoy a great chance to network.
The event was held at Worcester Race Course and was organised by Midwest Rural Enterprise CIC in partnership with Worcestershire County Council. Margaret Gray, Director of Midwest Rural Enterprise said, “ I am extremely pleased that we had so many women attend the event. I have been running the conference for 5 years and this has been our best year. Our guest speaker Karen Hardy was brilliant and many ladies have commented that they have been inspired by her story. Our workshops were also a great success and we were very lucky to have Di Kamp from Meta UK who facilitated a wonderful NLP session, which really highlighted it’s worth in a business context.”
Also at the event were local businesses that support women in business and there were a number of Social Enterprises who took part. One of the exhibitors was Karen Tomalin from 2nd Skin who is currently raising funds for the breast cancer unit in Worcester. Karen is trying to set the world record for the most bras strapped together in a line.
Guest speaker and Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hardy was asked if she could bring a Bra along to the event, which she did and presented to Karen Tomalin on the day.
The Worcestershire Women’s Conference is held every year at Worcester Race Course. This year it was held on 18th November during Global Entrepreneurship Week. Midwest Rural Enterprise will be running the event again next year, anyone wanting to go on the mailing list should email margaretg@midwest-rural.org..uk.
